My Apologies, Dear Friends

Why hello, fellow "Ddus!"

Maddu
here. I didn't give much about my actual background earlier. See, I am from a place far, far away. I look Indian, I have an Indian accent, but it is time for YOU to know the REAL truth about me. I am from Mudiland, a land filled with crazy and annoying people. At the village that I used to live in, there is another girl named Grettell. She was very evil, and she had a secret lair where she would mix up all these secret potions. I used to be American, with my real name being Sally Jensen, but she forced me to drink this potion that looked like Coke. See, I am a Coke addict, so I drank it. Then, I became me, as you know me, Maddu. Many people didn't like this change.

After that, people began to throw stones at me and act like I was poisonous. Afraid of being teased all of my life, I fled Mudiland, and then I met you, Chaddu. Remember? Chaddu let me stay in her house, and we became the first Ddus. We made many rituals, and one of them was parading around the country with these cloth things(Chaddu said they were called underwear) around our heads. Then, we met two boys. Their original names were ______ and ________, but we soon changed their names. For secrecy, I will not disclose their true names. Ask Chaddu for further referances.

A few years later, we met two other friends. Laddu, who was tormented all her life for being named after a sweet, and Raddu, a sweet, friendly girl. These two soon became a part of our beautiful and secret country. We all became fast friends. Now I know that you all will be upset with me, and understand why you should be. I definately deserve to be shunned. Most of you thought that I was born there. But I wasn't. I am deeply sorry for keeping my past a secret from you all. I know you are very disappointed in me. We usually tell eachother everything. But my past ashamed me. And now you know about my sad life. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.

Ashamed and Sorry,
This is Maddu, Signing off

Hello from Laddu.

Hello my Punjabi folk, I am Laddu. If any of you would know, my name is also the name of one of my favorite Indian sweets. Laddus, are little round sweet balls, and my mother makes the best ones in our little hut in India. The story of how I got my name is quite a funny one actually.

In my little village from India where I come from, we have a naming ceremony. The oldest and most learned lady chooses every one's names. When my father was just born, the lady was in a terrible mood, so one of the babies tried to give her a kiss after being named Vishnu. My father was unfortunately next, and right when my father was getting named, the lady who chooses everyone names yelled, "I Hate YOU!!" to one of the many people who had made her even more crankier. Thus, my father's name was "I Hate YOU!!"

My father felt horrible throughout the years whenever someone called his name, so he decided to make sure that I wouldn't have the same terrible fate he did when he got named. The same cranky lady was there the day I went to get named, so my father got laddus to make her not as cranky. My father handed her the box of laddus just a few seconds before I was supposed to be named, and right when I cam into her hands, she said, "Laddu!" with a happy smile on her face. Thus, by making her happy, I became so very sad. I mean, who like to be called Laddu head just because their head is extremely round?? All through my school and children hood years, I was teased because of my name.

But no more!! I shall come out and... no, I can't do anything about it. I am stuck with my name... I know, I CAN always change my name legally, but the Indian gods will not be happy, and they won't give me any more food, or money, or clothes, or shelter, and they will take away my IPod!! I can't live without my beautiful IPod, so I remain with the name Laddu.

Sigh, I know, its horrible, but now I shall leave, my dear mother is calling, she unfortunately needs help cleaning the dishes... so for now, this is Laddu, signing off!!! THEME MUSIC!!! Thank you for watching this episode of 'Laddu's Boring Life Story!' Brought to you by the letter B, every bore begins with B!! And we will see you next time, bye bye!
